Humble Beginnings
J.T. Alexander and Son, Inc., is a full service petroleum products distributor in Statesville, North Carolina, and proudly offer quality Shell, BP, Citgo, & Union 76 fuels, and we are the parent company of Home Run Markets, a local line of family-owned convenience stores. We were founded with a promise to our customers to deliver quality petroleum industry products at a competitive price in a timely manner. This promise has allowed us to expand beyond the county lines of Iredell County, NC to become a regional convenience store owner and operator, as well as a major regional supplier of quality petroleum products through North and South Carolina.
John T. Alexander founded J. T. Alexander and Son, Inc. in 1935 after buying a Texaco commission agency, located in Mooresville, NC. He was joined by his son, Tom Alexander, in 1961 after Tom returned from UNC Chapel Hill and the U.S. Navy.
In 1978, J. T. Alexander and Son, Inc. became a Texaco distributor serving the Piedmont of North Carolina. Since then, JTA has expanded into a major marketing presence in both North and South Carolina with the Shell, BP, & Union 76 brands.
David Alexander joined his father in the organization in 1994. David, a graduate of the College of Charleston, is a third generation family owner and succeeded his father Tom; and in 2010, David acquired J. T. Alexander and Son, Inc.
Expansion to Home Run Markets
In 2011, David opened his first convenience store, Home Run Markets #1, located in Mooresville, North Carolina. Since that time, David has continued to grow the business and Home Run Markets has grown to 17 locations throughout the Piedmont, and continues to look for opportunities for expansion.
Home Run Markets isn’t just the name on the building. We live, work and play in the communities we serve. As a local company employing local people, we see many of you every day, we know many of you personally, our children attend the same schools as your children, we volunteer alongside you, and we give back to our community. We are committed to being valuable partners in the communities we serve.

From a small Texaco agency with a single delivery truck to a regional convenience store chain and petroleum product distributor, J. T. Alexander and Son, Inc. and Home Run Markets remain a family-owned business and prides itself in treating customers and employees like members of their own family.
